As a leader and the integrator of care, the professional nurse has the responsibility, authority, and accountability for planning, coordinating and evaluating the patient’s care needs. Carries out full range of learning and development activities including assessment, planning, design, delivery and consultation specific to the clinical area or department. Coordinates and delivers comprehensive education and support to the Allina Health Cancer Institute care teams with a specialized focus on nursing. This position includes medical, surgical, infusion and/or radiation oncology patient populations in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. Delivers high-quality education to Care Team Members in a dynamic and complex environment using adult learning principles. Committed to advancing the Allina Health Cancer Institute through the integration of evidence-based practice initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
2+ years clinical learning and development experience (e.g. formal learning & development role, informal teaching roles such as preceptor, orientation facilitator, etc.)
2+ years’ oncology nursing experience in one or more of the following: ambulatory oncology, inpatient oncology and/or oncology infusion
Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required
Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below: Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross, Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in nursing or other nursing related field
Oncology-specific Certification through Oncology Nurse Credentialing Center (ONCC) (ex. OCN®)

Responsibilities

Develops and delivers education strategies that strengthen clinical practice, build Care Team Member capability, and support high quality patient care.
Aligns learning priorities with evidence-based practice standards, operational goals, and patient care needs.
Applies evidence-based adult learning principles to improve engagement, retention, and application of knowledge.
Collaborates with leaders, subject matter experts, and interdisciplinary partners to identify learning needs and implement targeted education solutions.
Translates departmental and system priorities into targeted learning strategies that improve readiness, adoption, and performance.
Provides consultation and guidance to support prioritization, change management, and resolution of complex educational needs.
Designs and implements scalable learning solutions that promote standardization, reinforce best practices, and support system integration.
Delivers education across care settings to improve access to learning, support implementation, and strengthen practice consistency.
Partners with key stakeholders to ensure education strategies are coordinated, scalable, and responsive to cross-functional needs.
Evaluates the effectiveness of learning solutions and education strategies.
Applies findings to address emerging risks, gaps, and/or organizational change, and to improve consistency, reliability, and practice outcomes.
Other duties as assigned.
