About The Position

As the Clinical Placement Coordinator, you will have a unique opportunity to liaise with students, faculty, and the Malek School of Nursing Professions clinical partners. This pivotal role not only coordinates and places undergraduate nursing students in diverse clinical settings but also serves as a bridge between our institution and partnering agency coordinators. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 1 to 3 years of program coordination, project management, or equivalent experience
  • Registered Nurse (R.N) required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with Google Suite (Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and terms used in clinical settings.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and work collaboratively.

Nice To Haves

  • experience in Higher Education is a plus
  • related licensed healthcare certification would be considered
  • Familiarity with Exxat software is a plus.
  • bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly regarded and considered a valuable asset for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of clinical education in the nursing programs
  • Recruit and complete onboarding for clinical faculty
  • Supervise adjunct clinical faculty
  • Manages placements and schedules for students and clinical faculty
  • Interface with placement and compliance platforms
  • Oversee student compliance processes to ensure students are compliant with all requirements for clinical placement
  • Obtain and confirm clinical placements in the graduate and undergraduate programs to ensure optimal student experiences
  • Oversee and maintain compliance records for clinical sites and preceptors in alignment with regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Ensure students meet all requirements for clinical clearance, including background checks and immunization records.
  • Foster positive relationships with all partnering agency coordinators to achieve high-quality placements
  • Source new placements to provide positive clinical experiences for students.
  • Develop and update essential affiliation agreements with clinical agencies, ensuring that records are maintained and reviewed regularly.
  • Strengthen the network of current and prospective clinical preceptors by networking with leaders at healthcare organizations and with potential preceptors
  • Facilitate the collection and use of data for continuous quality improvement, such as satisfaction surveys and other outcome data
  • Collaborate with other administrative staff members at the school of nursing and assist with administrative duties within the school of nursing
  • Coordinate with various departments, such as Student Health Services/University Wellness, to ensure student readiness for clinical placements
  • Maintain clinical education information systems, such as Exxat.
  • Collaborate with faculty and leadership to address any clinical concerns arising with students and/or faculty
  • Manage student absences and coordinate requirements for makeup days.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to provide onboarding and support for clinical preceptors and maintain an updated Preceptor Manual and other onboarding materials
  • Supervise clinical faculty and ensure that appropriate onboarding and continuing education is complete.
  • Host and/or provide opportunities for education such as inservices so that clinical faculty are providing positive student experiences in the field.
  • Perform site visits as needed to ensure clinical faculty effectiveness and maximizing student clinical experience.
  • Review student evaluations of clinical instructors and sites and implement changes necessary for continuous improvement.
  • Audit clinical instructor documentation and remediate as needed for continued improvement.
  • Advise graduate students as they move through their curriculum and clinical courses.
  • Serves as public face of the school to students, clinical partners and other external stakeholders
  • Performs other duties as assigned
