About The Position

The Clinical Pillar Team Lead, housed within the School of Medicine’s Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), will provide clinical curriculum and assessment support for the Clinical Pillar of the Medical School curriculum. The Clinical Pillar Team Lead has broad responsibilities in collaborating with faculty and staff to update and manage curriculum material, provide support to the Clinical Content Directors and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process, collaborate closely with the Curriculum Managers and Clinical Pillar Director, and manage logistics of the Clerkship clinical grading process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 3-5 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: Academic program coordination or administration, preferably in higher education or medical education, Curriculum management, instructional support, or learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Oasis), Project or program management involving cross-functional stakeholders.
  • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead annual collection/revision of clinical curriculum with Clinical Content Directors (CCDs), effectively cataloging updated didactic materials in Microsoft Teams or Sharepoint sites with teaching materials accessible to each Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship, including facilitator guides, student materials, readings, and other teaching materials.
  • Manage all Clerkship clinical content in Canvas Template shell.
  • Manage creation of Clinical quizzes/pages/modules in Clerkship Canvas Template shell.
  • Oversee collection of facilitator feedback, organizing and presenting in a cohesive manner to Clinical Content Directors to be used in CQI process.
  • Develop communication plans with Clinical Content Directors disseminate and coordinate planned updates for Team-Based Learning (TBL) and non-TBL materials related to annual CQI.
  • Following revisions, ensure all TBL and non-TBL materials are updated and available both on Canvas (template shell) and in Microsoft Teams.
  • Manage and maintain annual Learning Objective collection, following Curriculum Management Team processes and procedures.
  • Review learning seminar materials for accessibility and consult with Instructional Design and/or faculty to bring into compliance.
  • Manage a central repository (i.e. Sharepoint or Teams) of Clinical Pillar curriculum resources, ensuring access for relevant faculty.
  • Capture and synthesize key decisions, action items and support logistics for meetings, including room set up, AV, and connecting to remote technologies such as Zoom.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings for all Clinical Content Directors’ related work.
  • Provide ad hoc support for Clinical Content Directors as requested. Administrative support for any Clinical Content Director recruitment, including pulling down resumes and cover letters to send to recruitment committee, setting up interviews with candidates, and finalizing recruitment process.
  • Lead operations of integration of clinical objectives and assessment across the MD curriculum.
  • Maintain accurate records of ongoing efforts to spiral and integrate Clinical curriculum across all phases.
  • Oversee and maintain running records of existing integration initiatives, engaging and collaborating with stakeholders as required.
  • Participate in task forces and committees as administrative lead for iterative improvements to longitudinal assessment. Organize data and information for use in improvements.
  • Attend clinical content-focused meetings, offering longitudinal perspective on operations across phases to enhance alignment and improve student experiences and outcomes.
  • Manage updates and creation of assignments in collaboration with Clinical Content Directors.
  • Ensure rubrics are updated and on time.
  • Create assignments for Clerkship using the pre-existing templates.
  • Update timetable for due dates and communicate with graders.
  • Redact and distribute graded assignments back to the Clerkship coordinators.
  • Collaborate with the Foothills Coordinator in regards to shared work in course development and grading in CU systems (CU SIS, OASIS, etc.)
  • Work with Assessment and Evaluation and Clinical Content Directors to ensure consistent format for all grading meetings.
  • Ensure appropriate redaction required assessment data used in grading process.
  • Schedule all grading and appeals meetings, including ensuring quorum of liaisons attend each of the 6 grading meetings for each specialty.
  • Manage communication of grades between committees, Assessment and Evaluation and LICs.
  • Manage appeals for grading.
  • Maintain knowledge of semester course builds and grade entry in CU and OASIS.
  • Provides support with scheduling for immersions
  • Provides day of support for assigned curriculum sessions across the Trek curriculum.
  • Learns IT functions of common learning spaces on campus to provide on-time trouble shooting for faculty and students.
  • Assists in the capturing of student attendance, reporting results to faculty leadership as required.
  • Attends live Zoom learning sessions and provides administrative support for small group breakouts, recordings, and technical functions (like screen sharing).
  • Develop cooperation and cross-functional teamwork while participating in a group; working toward solutions which generally benefit all involved parties.
  • Establish and then document best practices and standard operating procedures relevant to core work responsibilities.
  • Support Office of Medical Education events and curriculum sessions as needed.
  • Adhere to University procurement processes and policies to support the purchasing of necessary supplies for UME curriculum activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Pre- and Post-Clerkship Curriculum Manager.
