About The Position

Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, the Clinical Pharmacy Technician II assists with smooth and accurate pharmacy operations in accordance with Option Care Health policies and procedures and applicable state professional standards and regulations. The role processes prescriptions and prepares medications and equipment, maintains inventory, supports patients, and keeps the site and supplies clean and organized. The position also provides training to Clinical Pharmacy Technician I team members. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of relevant experience.
Must be licensed or registered if required by the state.
Customer service experience serving internal and external customers, meeting service quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
Ability to perform basic and intermediate mathematical calculations.
Excellent organizational skills.
Basic Microsoft Word skills.
Basic Microsoft Excel skills.
Basic Microsoft PowerPoint skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
Ability to carry at least 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous home health experience.

Responsibilities

Process prescription refills for drugs, PN/high-risk medications, and heparin/saline.
Process new drug prescriptions.
Count, pour, and mix pharmaceuticals.
Package products in appropriate containers and label containers.
Provide training to Clinical Pharmacy Technician I team members.
Validate and report incoming supplies to ensure accurate inventory levels.
Develop purchase orders to address shortages.
Validate removal of expired supplies and materials.
Schedule deliveries.
Collect and maintain patient data and information for assessments.
Respond to non-routine patient questions and requests.
Clean and sanitize surfaces and laminar hood flows.
Clean and organize supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
