About The Position

The Clinical Specialists provides clinical pharmacy services to the inpatients and outpatients of the Medical University Hospitals and clinics. Pharmacists provide supervision of pharmacy technicians per South Carolina Board of Pharmacy regulations.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE Accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Completion of a two-year ASHP accredited clinical pharmacy residency program or equivalent pharmacy experience
  • SC Pharmacist License (or eligible for SC Pharmacist License)
  • Board certification or equivalent credentials within three years of second-year resident graduation
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification: Must be BLS Certified within three months of hire date and maintain certification throughout employment

  • Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. (Continuous)
  • Ability to use automated mixing equipment. (Continuous)
  • Ability to work overtime as required. (Continuous)
  • Ability to work in a latex safe environment. (Continuous)
  • Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions. (Continuous)
  • Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function. (Continuous)
  • Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. (Continuous) (Selected Positions)
  • Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy.
  • Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
