About The Position

This is a new opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Emergency Medicine, located in Kingman, Arizona. The role offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus and a $4,000 relocation bonus. The position involves providing clinical pharmacy services, acting as a resource and educator to healthcare providers, and coordinating various clinical pharmacy activities. The specialist will identify, resolve, and prevent medication-related problems, interpret laboratory monitoring, and perform activities to decrease healthcare costs through effective pharmacotherapy. The role also includes assisting in educational programs, serving as a mentor and preceptor, presenting drug information to committees, and maintaining communication with the medical staff regarding pharmaceutical supplies and regulations. Other duties as assigned to support the department and organization are also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.).
PGY2 Resident in Emergency Medicine/Critical Care or Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification (BCEMP or BCCCP).
Licensed in the State of Arizona or obtain license within 90 days of hire.
Ability to sit 50% of time; stand/walk 50%.
Ability to grasp, lift, reach, stoop, repetitive movement.
Ability to carry or lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
Ability to feel, see, hear, smell, speak, and distinguish colors.

Responsibilities

Provides clinical pharmacy services for patients.
Serves as a resource, educator, mentor, and leader to physicians and other caregivers.
Coordinates and provides clinical pharmacy activities, including pharmacokinetics, parenteral nutrition, and general pharmaceutical care.
Identifies, resolves, and prevents potential/actual medication-related problems.
Initiates, adjusts, monitors, and recommends changes in drug therapy.
Coordinates and interprets laboratory monitoring of drug therapy.
Performs clinical pharmacy activities to decrease overall patient healthcare costs.
Assists in clinical pharmacy or educational programs.
Serves as a mentor and preceptor in the residency training program.
Presents drug monographs and reviews, medication use evaluations, and policy to the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee.
Maintains interface with medical staff to provide information for new pharmaceutical supplies, formulary, drug usage, compatibility, and new regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of department and organization.
