Requirements

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS Pharmacy Degree.
  • PGY1 residency training OR 3 years of applicable experience, AR licensure, or eligible for licensure.
  • Certification as a licensed Registered Pharmacist by the State of Arkansas or eligibility for licensure. Must have a license by the start date.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency
  • Experience in transitions of care.
  • Previous acute care adult medicine clinical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultative assistance to providers, nurses, and other ancillary staff of the inpatient adult medicine services along with providing pharmaceutical care to patients for their acute care hospitalization.
  • Daily rounding with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Medication review.
  • Participation in a pharmacokinetics monitoring service.
  • Answering drug information questions for the medical and nursing staff.
  • Collaborating with the other CPS daily.
  • Acting as the liaison between the acute care team and the pharmacy.
  • Oversees patient care functions, including maintaining accurate records and refining medication therapies to improve treatment results.
  • Handles task prioritization, adjusts to shifts in practice, and addresses day-to-day operational challenges.
  • Adhere to pharmacy laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Provides training and instruction to staff members and pharmacy students.
  • Participates in initiatives for process enhancement, policy revisions, or research activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
