About The Position

The Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator for the Specialty Clinics is responsible for coordinating ambulatory clinical pharmacist and technician services with specialty pharmacy, training, education and assessment of productivity metrics. The Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator supports leadership activities of the department, coordinates quality/process improvement initiatives, and represents the pharmacy department on multidisciplinary committees. Under the direction of the Ambulatory Manager and Director, the Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator ensures competency, compliance, and professional development of staff. Through the provision of optimal pharmaceutical care and leading the clinical and operational activities of pharmacy staff, they ensure optimal outcomes for patients. All activities are done in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations with the health and welfare of the patient paramount.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an American Council on Pharmacy Education accredited school of pharmacy
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a clinical pharmacist in a health system required
  • Texas Pharmacist License or eligible for Texas Licensure as a registered pharmacist
  • Pharmacist and pharmacy preceptor licensure must be obtained within 90 days of employment
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification within 30 days of employment
  • BPS Board Certification required within 1 year of certification eligibility

Nice To Haves

  • Satisfactory completion of a post-graduate year I residency in a comparable health care setting preferred
  • Previous leadership and/or supervisory experience preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (critical care areas only) within 30 days of employment
