About The Position

Mass General Brigham is seeking candidates for Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator for Medication Use System for Smart Pump Library leadership to coordinate a cross-functional team of pharmacists, nurses, and clinicians. The MGB Clinical Coordinator will lead and support the continued advancement of smart pump library platforms across MGB. This team leader will help advance the mission of the program while serving as a liaison between the system-pharmacy team and medical, nursing, and biomedical engineering leaders. This role will provide pharmacy leadership and medication expertise in the oversight and optimization of smart pump drug libraries across multiple platforms, ensuring safe, standardized medication use and advancing continuous quality improvement in infusion practices. This position involves advanced clinical knowledge, leadership, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications to optimize patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
  • Pharmacist [State License] required.
  • Extensive knowledge and ability in all areas of the department including: IV Admixtures, Drug Information, Ambulatory, Manufacturing, and Drug Distribution.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span of the neonate, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient.
  • Possess ability to assess patient data relative to age specific needs.
  • Provide care as described in the department's policies/procedures.
  • Works relatively independently.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy practice settings, legal requirements and limitations, prescription information and calculations, drug identification and generic equivalents, drug manufacturing, packaging and labeling information, and proper drug handling and storage practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working as a pharmacist 2-3 years preferred.
  • Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration [MCSR - Massachusetts] preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate a cross-functional team of pharmacists, nurses, and clinicians.

  • Provide pharmacy leadership and medication expertise in the oversight and optimization of smart pump drug libraries across multiple platforms.
  • Ensure safe, standardized medication use.
  • Advance continuous quality improvement in infusion practices.
  • Participates in department quality improvement efforts.
  • Participates in the training of medical, nursing and allied health professionals.
  • Must complete 20 continuing education credits per year to maintain license.
