Requirements

  • BS in Pharmacy, PharmD preferred.
  • A current, active license in the state residing in and must obtain a NJ state license within 180 days of hire.
  • 2+ years of experience in pharmacy distribution and packaging, with exposure to geriatrics and/or chronic care management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally through written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical and computer skills to navigate proprietary and other pharmacy software.
  • Demonstrated experience with problem-solving, conflict resolution, and project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to work with a sense of urgency, under pressure, multi-task, and achieve deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Strong analytical skills with good clinical judgment and decision making.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations, including HIPAA and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Possesses high level of integrity.

  • Must be able to commute to multiple site locations within assigned territory.
  • May be necessary to work extended hours as needed.

  • Experience or strong interest in clinical pharmacogenomics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a point of contact for patients, families, other pharmacists, clients, and healthcare providers to address medication-related problems and other health issues.
  • Explain care plan options, medication usage, side effects, and contraindications.
  • Document patient care decisions, actions, and coding/billing using proprietary software.
  • Ensure accurate, efficient, timely, and compliant medication distribution and fulfillment.
  • Plan, implement, and maintain procedures for assessing, compounding, packaging, and labeling medications.
  • Oversee Pharmacy Technicians in medication reconciliation, physician order entry, inventory management, storage, security, labeling, and packaging.
  • Provide timely review, preparation, and final approval for prescription orders and dispensed medications.
  • Ensure proper and compliant billing and record keeping of dispensed and shipped medications.
  • Use professional judgment to assess new medication requests and refills, making recommendations to care providers to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Report and work to rectify or prevent incidents of Quality Assurance issues, HIPAA violations, Fraud, Waste, and Abuse.
