About The Position

Texas Health Dallas is seeking a full-time Clinical Pharmacist to join their Pharmacy Department. This role involves providing exceptional patient care and actively participating as a key member of the healthcare team. The department utilizes advanced technologies and serves a diverse patient population across various specialized units, including the ED, ICUs, ORs, Women and Neonatal, Oncology, and Medical/Surgical. Pharmacists are involved in clinical initiatives such as anticoagulation management, renal adjustments, and Antimicrobial Stewardship. The hospital itself is an 875-bed, full-service facility with a long-standing commitment to high-quality, compassionate care, specializing in cancer care, cardiology, neurosciences, women’s services, and emergency medicine. It is recognized for its Level III NICU, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, and holds designations such as Magnet hospital and Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level I Trauma Center, and Comprehensive Heart Attack Center.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. is required
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required
  • Texas Pharmacist License upon hire is required
  • Must be proficient in written and verbal English language communication skills, computer proficient and possess basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency, or a minimum of five (5) years of progressive clinical hospital pharmacy experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience within a pharmacy specialty or high-acuity care environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating effectively, building positive professional relationships and role modeling teamwork.
  • Timely and accurate support of medication distribution including medication order verification and oversight of pharmacy technician responsibilities.
  • Provision of clinical pharmacy services for the safe and efficient patient care.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of one's own work as well as maintaining required competencies and other documentation.
  • Consistent support of the department's quality improvement and patient safety standards programs and initiatives is also required.
  • Ongoing professional development and growth.
  • Not only the management of one's own time but shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies.
  • Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
