About The Position

Sentara Careplex Hospital is hiring a Clinical Pharmacist for our team! This is a Full-Time position with a $15,000 Sign-on Bonus for Qualified Candidates. The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible and accountable for the provision of safe, effective, and prompt pharmacy services. They participate in all necessary aspects of the medication-use system while providing comprehensive and individualized pharmaceutical care to the patients in their assigned areas. The role requires the ability to work independently in various areas of pharmacy practice, manage patient drug therapy according to clinical standards, and ensure the appropriateness of medication orders for patient care and safety. The Clinical Pharmacist must maintain current knowledge of medications and diseases, serve as a primary resource for drug information, and provide in-depth patient counseling when needed. Additionally, they will participate in training new employees, assume responsibility for assigned tasks, and consistently follow policies and procedures. Continuous learning and staying updated on new information are essential. The role demands superior customer service, effective communication, decision-making, and organization. The Clinical Pharmacist serves as a role model in professionalism, collaboration, and teamwork. They ensure adequate supplies for patient care, triage and escalate issues outside their scope, use appropriate systems for patient information, and maintain quality assurance according to departmental and legal requirements. Operating pharmacy equipment appropriately and precepting pharmacy students are also part of the responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelors Level Degree in Pharmacy (Required)
• Virginia Pharmacist License (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)

Nice To Haves

• Doctorate Level Degree in Pharmacy (Preferred)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
• Previous Clinical Experience (Preferred)
• Oncology Experience (Preferred)
• Residency Trained (Preferred)

Responsibilities
