Requirements
- BS or Pharm D from an accredited college of Pharmacy
- computer skills with word & excel.
Nice To Haves
- Hospital experience preferred, but new graduate is eligible with hospital rotations
Responsibilities
- Accurately interprets physician orders; including dosing, allergies, interactions and patient profile review.
- Accurately dispenses medications at the campus/ area assigned in a timely manner, in the appropriate quantities, using the appropriate techniques (ie: aseptic technique for IV admixture, appropriate paperwork for controlled substances).
- Performs clinical functions appropriate to the campus/ area assigned; including but not limited to – renal dosing, kinetic dosing, profile review, and patient education.
- Assists with inventory management as appropriate for special order items, conversion to formulary items, and processing out of dates.
- Provides appropriate drug information to physicians, nurses, and patients.
- Appropriately utilizes Pyxis
- Directs and supervises work of pharmacy technicians appropriately.
