This full-time Clinical Pharmacist position at Atrium Health Pineville Internal Medicine involves overseeing pharmaceutical care, including retrieving and evaluating biomedical literature and designing medication therapy regimens. The role requires effective patient education techniques for counseling patients and caregivers on medication therapy, adverse effects, compliance, and administration. The pharmacist will design, recommend, monitor, and evaluate patient-specific pharmacotherapeutic regimens, implement recommendations, and document them appropriately. Responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting medication orders, participating in medical emergencies, supporting medication safety and quality improvement activities, and performing quality assurance of the medication use system. Collaboration with the healthcare team on formulary adherence and medication-use processes is essential, as is assisting with the acquisition of non-formulary, compassionate use, and investigational medications. The role requires practice in compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. The pharmacist will prepare, dispense, and oversee the proper storage and handling of medications. Additionally, the position involves serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students, residents, and healthcare learners, and mentoring, orienting, training, and assisting with performance evaluations of pharmacy teammates. Directing and checking the accuracy of pharmacy support team members is also a key responsibility to ensure safe and efficient workflows and regulatory compliance. The role requires the ability to provide age-appropriate patient care, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan and assessing data reflective of patient status to meet age-specific needs.
