The Clinical Pharmacist, Clinical Program Oversight will be responsible for the review of all CVS Caremark clinical programs at the concept phase and all current clinical programs on an annual basis or as deemed necessary to ensure regulatory compliance with Center for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS), NCQA, and URAC. The key responsibilities will be the coordination of all activities including; external consultations, preparation of documentation for the review of CVS Caremark's clinical programs, distribution of meeting minutes, and participation in the Utilization Management (UM) Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Subcommittee process. Responsibilities will also include the preparation of documents and participation in support of the Caremark National P&T Committee process. The CPO clinical pharmacist will work in collaboration with the Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Omnicare, Specialty Program Development, Corporate Quality, Appeals, and other areas regarding clinical issues by communicating timely and relevant clinical information, and assisting the CPO Manager and Vice President of Clinical Affairs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant clinical pharmacist experience
  • Demonstrated experience in PBM clinical pharmacy space
  • Excellent clinical and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including the ability to tailor the message to the specific audience.
  • Strong clinical experience in evidence-based medicine and proficient online literature retrieval (PubMed, Lexicomp, etc)
  • Attention to detail in authoring and editing documents for accuracy, spelling, grammar, and content.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of concepts of formulary and Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and clinical programs and PBM.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 5% if needed to meet business needs
  • Licensed pharmacist in good standing
  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from accredited school of pharmacy

  • Post Graduate (PGY1/PGY2) Pharmacy Residency
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS)
  • Strong clinical experience in drug information and UM program process.
