The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services and pharmaceutical care to patients, practicing under the direction of pharmacy leadership and professional pharmacy standards. This role involves providing information about medication therapy to healthcare providers, patients, and families in both formal and informal settings. The Clinical Pharmacist will also participate in the education and training of staff pharmacists, resident physicians, patient care personnel, and pharmacy students. They will interact positively with clinical practitioners and may serve in a supervisory role when assigned or in the absence of supervisory personnel. Key personal characteristics include flexibility, attention to detail, initiative, cooperation, and a commitment to continuing education. Strong communication and interactive skills, both oral and written, a results-oriented approach, and the ability to function effectively in team settings are essential. This individual must be capable of providing pharmaceutical care for neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient age groups. The role also requires supporting the Ballad Health Mission, Vision, and Values and a commitment to improving care quality through Performance Improvement Initiatives.
