About The Position

The Clinical Pharmacist provides safe, effective, appropriate, and cost-efficient medication therapy to patients. Working directly with providers, other health professionals, and patients, the pharmacist helps ensure prescribed medications contribute to the best possible health outcomes. Duties include verifying medication orders, monitoring patient medication therapies, providing drug information, and supervising and directing support personnel. Until Michigan licensure is obtained and training is successfully completed, all clinical pharmacist duties are performed under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Requirements

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree or higher.
• Currently licensed to practice pharmacy in Michigan or eligible for licensure.
• Obtain Michigan licensure as a Registered Pharmacist within 90 days of employment; if licensure is not obtained by then, continued employment will be evaluated and termination may occur.
• Until Michigan licensure is obtained and training is successfully completed, perform clinical pharmacist duties under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Meet Munson Healthcare vaccination requirements: have vaccination or lab-confirmed immunity for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella, and receive an annual flu vaccine or have an approved medical or religious exemption.

Nice To Haves

• Health-system experience or completion of a PGY-1 residency.
• For specialty areas (ED, OR, ONC), completion of a PGY-2 residency.
• Board certification.
