About The Position

Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital Royal Oak, established in 1955, is a 1,101-bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma and Level II pediatric trauma designations. It hosts 43 residency and fellowship programs with 454 residents and fellows and is the exclusive clinical partner of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. The Clinical Pharmacist provides Pharmaceutical Care according to professional and departmental standards, offering safe, effective, rational, and cost-conscious pharmacotherapeutic recommendations through the department's medication management programs. This role also involves assisting in supervising Pharmacy Technicians and Interns, participating in department-directed medication management activities, and demonstrating good judgment and decisiveness. The Clinical Pharmacist is expected to maintain a working knowledge of current pharmaceutical practice, show a personal commitment to professional growth, and support management in the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of new programs and activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Pharm.D. degree in pharmacy.
  • Clinical Pharmacist license - State of Michigan or eligible to obtain Upon Hire.
  • Pharmacist Controlled Substance license - State of Michigan or eligible to obtain Upon Hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Residency training.
  • 3 years of relevant experience.
  • 3 years of experience as a clinical pharmacist or pharmacy residency/fellowship.
  • In absence of residency training, candidates with demonstrated superior knowledge (board certification, considerable practical clinical experience, etc.) in area of focus may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Pharmaceutical Care according to professional and departmental standards and statutory requirements.
  • Provides safe, effective, rational, and cost-conscious pharmacotherapeutic recommendations through the department's medication management programs.
  • Assists in supervising the functional activities of Pharmacy Technicians and Interns.
  • Participates in department directed medication management activities consistent with Beaumont Health goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate good judgment and decisiveness during daily activities, maintaining a working knowledge of current pharmaceutical practice, and demonstrate a personal commitment to professional growth.
  • Support management by providing oversight, guidance and support for all assigned areas.
  • Participate in the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of new programs and activities.
