About The Position

The Clinical Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care by reviewing physicians’ orders for appropriateness of drug ordered, dosage, route, and potential interactions. The Clinical Pharmacist counsels Nurses and Physician about medications and medication-related issues. The Clinical Pharmacist compounds, fills, and dispenses pharmaceutical preparations and achieves departmental and organizational objectives by providing pharmaceutical information and assistance to all members of the patient care team.

Requirements

  • Licensed Pharmacist in the state of practice.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency.
  • Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or equivalent.
  • Experience in clinical pharmacy practice, preferably in an acute care setting.
  • Knowledge of pharmacotherapy, drug information resources, and pharmacy law.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Experience in a specialized area of pharmacy practice (e.g., critical care, oncology, infectious diseases).
  • Completion of a PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency.
  • Active participation in professional pharmacy organizations.

Responsibilities
