About The Position

Texas Health Southlake is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join their Pharmacy department. This full-time position involves supporting medication distribution, ensuring accuracy, and contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. The role also includes managing time effectively, minimizing pharmaceutical costs, and responding to medical emergencies. The department offers a supportive leadership and team environment that promotes continuous learning and professional development, with opportunities to perform various hospital pharmacy skills. Texas Health Southlake, serving the community for 20 years, is a 51,600 square foot facility with 18 surgical specialties, multiple suites, operating rooms, and a 24/7 Emergency Room, specializing in areas like Bariatric, Cardiology, and General Surgery. The hospital has received numerous accolades, including U.S. News and World Report’s High Performing Hospital Award and a 5-star Rating by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy is required Or Other Pharm.D. is required
  • Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required
  • PHAR - Pharmacist Upon Hire is required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required
  • Must be proficient in written and verbal English language communication skills, computer proficient and possess basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 Years hospital experience or residency is preferred
  • 2 years of pharmacy hospital experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating effectively, building positive professional relationships and role modeling teamwork.
  • Timely and accurate support of medication distribution including medication order verification and oversight of pharmacy technician responsibilities.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of one's own work as well as maintaining required competencies and other documentation.
  • Consistent support of the department's quality improvement and patient safety standards programs and initiatives is also required.
  • Not only the management of one's own time but shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies.
  • Respond to medical emergencies per hospital policy as available.
  • Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
