  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English effectively to communicate with patients, families, and all healthcare team members.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct deliberate medication reviews and reconciliation for chronic pain patients, and develop strategies for patients with histories of non-compliance, abuse, or diversion.
  • Conduct clinical interviews with patients, families, and caregivers to gather information necessary to design pharmacotherapeutic treatment plans.
  • Provide pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, including prescribing in accordance with MTF policy and performing auricular acupuncture as required to support comprehensive pain management.
  • Work with physicians to provide drug therapy recommendations, perform polypharmacy management, and educate patients on changes in drug therapy.
  • Order and evaluate appropriate laboratory tests to assess clinical response, development of adverse drug reactions, and therapeutic drug levels.
  • Educate patients and their families/caregivers on medications and non-drug therapies; provide written drug information, counsel on self-monitoring, and promote medication adherence with compliance aids.

Benefits

  • Mission-driven work — your expertise directly supports the health and readiness of U.S. military personnel and their families.
  • Team-based environment — collaborate daily with physicians, nurses, and a multidisciplinary pain management team.
  • Clinical scope and autonomy — prescribing privileges, pain management protocols, and tele-health capabilities in a full-service MTF.
  • Structured schedule — Monday through Friday, no nights or weekends, with all federal holidays observed.
