About The Position
At Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital, the Clinical Pharmacist provides decentralized pharmacy services within the Emergency Department while supporting inpatient pharmacy operations. The pharmacist may float to other areas as needed to support pharmacy services and staffing needs. This is a PRN role with a variety of shifts throughout the week.
Requirements
- PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh), or eligibility for reciprocation in the current state within 90 days of hire.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- For individuals administering immunizations, completion of a Board of Pharmacy-approved immunization administration course or certification within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Board certification.
- Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship, or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience.
- For Clinical Pharmacists hired in a specialized pharmacy practice area, a post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services.
- Verify medication orders and dispense medications accurately in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Document services completely, accurately, and promptly.
- Ensure pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards.
- Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences.
- Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.
- Support decentralized pharmacy services in the Emergency Department and inpatient pharmacy operations; float to other areas as needed.
