Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist in Investigational Drug Services (IDS). As an IDS Clinical Pharmacist Specialist, you will be a registered pharmacist with responsibility and accountability for the safe, effective, and timely delivery of investigational therapies. You will provide specialized pharmacy services for patients enrolled in clinical trials and receiving treatment at our South/Southwest ambulatory locations, while collaborating with investigators, research teams, and the broader IDS Pharmacy team. Join us as we expand the research pharmacy infrastructure at our southwest satellite sites, broadening research access beyond the academic medical center and bringing cutting-edge clinical studies directly into the community! This Clinical Pharmacist Specialist position will provide IDS support for clinical, pharmacy, and research study teams at satellite sites within the UCM research network. Pharmaceutical care services include but are not limited to assessing patient needs, incorporating protocol-specific age and disease specific characteristics into drug therapy, adjusting care according to patient response, and providing clinical interventions to detect, mitigate, and prevent medication adverse events as specified in research protocols. The role will provide operational support for dose preparation/verification and drug storage/inventory management at satellite sites and ensure appropriate integrity and compliance with clinical trial protocols and research and pharmacy regulations.
