As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Ambulatory Care, you’ll combine direct patient care with leadership, education, and program development. In this role, you’ll serve as a clinical resource and team leader for ambulatory care pharmacy services, partnering with pharmacists, physicians, residents, students, and other healthcare professionals to improve patient care and expand pharmacy services. Approximately 85% or more of the role includes pharmacist/staffing responsibilities, with additional focus on leadership, education, quality improvement, and program development.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy
  • Clinical experience with 3 years of recent direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting
  • Nebraska Pharmacist License

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct pharmacy care and perform staff pharmacist responsibilities.
  • Lead and support the ambulatory care pharmacy team.
  • Mentor and precept pharmacists, residents, students, interns, and technicians.
  • Provide education and training for pharmacy and medical group staff.
  • Represent pharmacy on interdisciplinary committees, councils, and workgroups.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and help identify opportunities to enhance patient care.
  • Support research, program development, policies, and departmental goals.
  • May serve as a Residency Program Director or Coordinator, depending on location.
