About The Position

We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist in Oncology to provide comprehensive medication management for patients receiving cancer therapy. This role involves collaborating with the multidisciplinary oncology care team to optimize treatment outcomes. The pharmacist will deliver individualized patient and caregiver education on anticancer therapies, including treatment expectations, administration, adherence, toxicity monitoring, and self-management strategies. Additionally, they will provide evidence-based supportive care management and education for symptom prevention and treatment, such as nausea/vomiting, pain, infection risk, and other treatment-related adverse effects. The role includes practicing through delegation protocols to manage chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, electrolyte imbalance, potential chemotherapy toxicities, and achieve therapeutic drug levels. A key aspect of this position is serving as a preceptor, mentor, and educator for pharmacy students, residents, and other learners, fostering their development in oncology practice. The pharmacist will also ensure the appropriate utilization of medications to optimize patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or a PharmD degree Required
  • 1 year of clinical patient care and orders management experience Required
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Wisconsin within 90 Days Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 Days Required

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an ASHP Accredited Residency training program Preferred
  • 3 years of institutional experience (hospital or integrated health system) or completion of an ASHP accredited residency training program Preferred
  • Certification through the appropriate certifying program (Board of Pharmacy Specialties, National Board of Nutrition Support Certification, National Certification Board for Anticoagulation Providers, Specialty Pharmacy Certification Board, etc.) Preferred
