About The Position
The HARBORVIEW PHARMACY DEPARTMENT has an outstanding opportunity for a CLINICAL STAFF PHARMACIST - ICU/EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT. This is a part-time position with 35 hours per week, typically working the evening shift. Strong candidates will possess an advanced degree or residency, or have at least 2 years of experience in clinically-oriented hospital pharmacy practice.
Requirements
- State of Washington Pharmacist License
- One year of experience in hospital pharmacy practice. Months spent in the completion of an American Society of Health System Pharmacists accredited residency training program may substitute month-for-month for the required experience.

Responsibilities
- Ensure appropriate drug therapy and nutrition, including indication, dose, drug interactions and drug allergies
- Evaluate pharmacotherapeutic regimens for effectiveness and adverse drug events, and intervene as needed
- Utilize the medical record and other appropriate documentation systems to communicate with healthcare professionals and to document specific pharmacotherapeutic recommendations
- Provide drug information and education to medical teams, nursing and dietician staff
- Provide patient counseling and education
- Facilitate efficient medication delivery and appropriate scheduling of medications
- Develop and maintain procedures to improve the efficiency and accuracy of medication distribution and administration
