About The Position

This role involves providing clinical pharmacy services for safe and efficient patient care within the ICU/Critical Care setting. The Clinical Pharmacist will support medication distribution, including order verification and oversight of technicians. They will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of their work, maintaining competencies, and supporting quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. The position requires ongoing professional development, effective time management, and a focus on minimizing pharmaceutical costs and discovering process efficiencies. The pharmacist will also respond to medical emergencies as available and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy Required
  • Other Pharm D. Required
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required.
  • PHAR- Pharmacist upon hire required.
  • Must be proficient in written and verbal English language communication skills, computer proficient and possess basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of hospital experience or residency preferred.
  • PGY1 training plus three years critical care (ICU) experience OR
  • PGY1 and Critical Care PGY2 training highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Communicating effectively, building positive professional relationships and role modeling teamwork.
  • Timely and accurate support of medication distribution including medication order verification and oversight of pharmacy technician responsibilities.
  • Provision of clinical pharmacy services for the safe and efficient patient care.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of one's own work as well as maintaining required competencies and other documentation.
  • Consistent support of the department's quality improvement and patient safety standards programs and initiatives is also required.
  • Ongoing professional development and growth.
  • Not only the management of one's own time but shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies.
  • Respond to medical emergencies per hospital policy as available.
  • Other duties as assigned.
