About The Position

This job assumes responsibility for coordinating Clinical Pharmacy Services. Facilitates the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through safe, cost-effective drug therapies. Provides clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners, provides training, education and competency assessment of pharmacists, clinical rotation students/residents (if applicable) regarding the department's clinical programs, and reviews the performance and documentation of clinical activities of all pharmacists. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • 3 years’ experience in Clinical Practice
  • Current Pharmacy License in the State of Practice
  • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to deal effectively and to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team including physicians, administration, nurses, and support staff.
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates Clinical Pharmacy Services.
  • Educates staff on pharmaceutical issues.
  • Trains and develops department staff.
  • Provides patient assessment and care.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
