About The Position

The Clinical Pharmacist – Ambulatory Care role at Texas Health Fort Worth involves providing clinical pharmacy services for safe and efficient patient care. This includes supporting medication distribution, verifying medication orders, and overseeing pharmacy technician responsibilities. The position requires effective communication, building positive professional relationships, and modeling teamwork. The pharmacist is also responsible for managing their time, minimizing pharmaceutical costs, reducing wastage, and discovering new process efficiencies. They will respond to medical emergencies as needed and perform other assigned duties. The hospital is experiencing significant growth and expansion, and the team is diverse and inclusive, focused on delivering outstanding patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy Required
  • Other Pharm D. Required
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required.
  • Pharmacist upon hire required.
  • Must be proficient in written and verbal English language communication skills, computer proficient and possess basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of hospital experience or residency preferred.
  • Completion of PGY1 training is required; PGY2 training in ambulatory care is strongly preferred.
  • Board certification (BCPS or BCACP) within 30 days of hire is preferred.
  • Medical staff credentialing and privileging must be completed within 90 days of hire (preferred).
  • Experience with ambulatory care and HIV population is preferred
  • PGY2 in ambulatory care or infectious disease experience is preferred
  • Carrying malpractice insurance is preferred.
  • IV certification highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Communicating effectively, building positive professional relationships and role modeling teamwork.
  • Timely and accurate support of medication distribution including medication order verification and oversight of pharmacy technician responsibilities.
  • Provision of clinical pharmacy services for the safe and efficient patient care.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of one's own work as well as maintaining required competencies and other documentation.
  • Consistent support of the department's quality improvement and patient safety standards programs and initiatives is also required.
  • Ongoing professional development and growth.
  • Management of one's own time and shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies.
  • Respond to medical emergencies per hospital policy as available.
  • Other duties as assigned.
