Under supervision and in collaboration with other health care professionals, assist in performing a variety of nursing care services for patients. This role involves receiving patient care assignments from the registered nurse (RN) in charge and initiating delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence. The Clinical Partner I collects and documents data for assessments, reassessments, and scheduling appointments or surgeries. They inform the licensed nurse of any changes in patient condition, complaints, or educational needs. Responsibilities include stocking and maintaining supplies and equipment, assisting with delegated clerical duties, and potentially performing tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with patient hygiene, performing dressing changes, and managing referrals in an outpatient setting. In an inpatient environment, they prepare patients for discharge and orient new patients and their significant others to the nursing unit. The role requires a constant state of alertness and safe performance, with potential for point-of-care testing. Assistance is provided to patients three years of age or older.
