The purpose of this job description is to define the scope, responsibilities, and qualifications for the Clinical Optimization Nurse role. It serves as a foundation for recruitment, performance evaluation, and professional development. This role is integral to advancing clinical quality, supporting nursing staff, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes through evidence-based care and interdisciplinary collaboration. This position is working evening shift, 11am - 11:30pm.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of recent continuous bedside nursing experience.
  • Current RN license in the State of Florida.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and clinical expertise, especially for patients with complex needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions of care.
  • Support bedside nurses with care planning, documentation, and coordination.
  • Serve as a mentor, educator, and consultant to nursing staff.
  • Monitor department-specific quality metrics and promote evidence-based practices.
  • Participate in shared governance and unit-based decision-making.
  • Lead small teams and support team development.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards.
