About The Position

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Clinical Ops Manager is responsible for the clinical oversight, leadership, coordination, and performance of nursing/clinical services across multiple CenterPlace Health locations. The Clinical Ops Manager ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care that aligns with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and evidence-based practices. The Clinical Ops Manager provides leadership and support to nursing staff, clinical support staff, and site clinical leaders while promoting operational excellence, quality improvement, patient safety, and workforce development. This position works collaboratively with providers, operations leadership, quality teams, and executive leadership to ensure standardized clinical workflows and consistent patient care across all health center locations. The Clinical Ops Manager is responsible for assessing clinical performance, implementing best practices, supporting staff development, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the organization. This position is considered to be at risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens. Selected immunizations are a required prerequisite. This position requires access to transportation.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum five (7) years of progressive clinical nursing experience.
  • Minimum three (7) years of nursing leadership or clinical management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ambulatory care, population health, quality improvement, and patient-centered medical home principles.
  • Knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations, including HRSA/FQHC requirements.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical reporting tools.
  • Ability to analyze clinical and operational data and develop action plans for improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and effective working relationships with providers, staff, patients, and community partners.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Florida.
  • BA degree in Healthcare Management or related degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3 + years’ experience in increasingly responsible ambulatory clinic management positions.
  • Supervisory experience in multiple disciplines required.
  • The ideal candidate will be a seasoned LPN and high-level professional with a proven track record of success in healthcare operations and a high-level grasp of current trends in relation to Medicare/Medicaid compliance, laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Experience working in compliance and HIPAA required.
  • Experience working and administering Human Resource functions including staff development, training, disciplinary action, policies and procedures and benefits.
  • Demonstrated high level professionalism and positive leadership in leading and managing numerous major projects while consecutively maintaining day to day clinical operations at the highest level.
  • Comfortably work with a complex system to effectively deal with the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced medical clinic while managing multiple employees at the same time.
  • Confidence to handle and solve problems on a routine basis while maintaining the standards of the clinic, and all its affiliations.
  • Demonstrate positive customer relations skills when working with coworkers, staff, and customers.
  • High-level problem-solving capabilities with a focus on getting the job done.
  • Multi-tasked with the ability to effectively handle and diffuse crisis situations when they rise.
  • Ability to listen to staff and consumer issues and solve the problems while doing the right thing for all parties involved.
  • Must be exceptionally flexible and detail orientated to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be comfortable with project management and follow through to task.
  • Comfortable working with a high degree of independence and responsibility.
  • Strong connection to the mission of CPH serving patients who maybe underserved and uninsured and in need of healthcare.
  • Ability to use an Electronic Health Record to its maximum capacity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license may be substituted for RN requirement and is highly desirable.
  • Experience managing clinical staff across multiple practice locations preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in mental/ behavioral, dental and medical office settings.
  • Experience working in a Community Clinic environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct leadership and oversight of clinical nursing operations across multiple health center locations.
  • Supervises Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Assistants, Care Coordinators, and other assigned clinical staff.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors clinical policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure consistent standards of care across all sites.
  • Collaborates with medical providers and operational leadership to improve patient access, clinical efficiency, and quality outcomes.
  • Ensures compliance with HRSA, FQHC, OSHA, HIPAA, CDC, CMS, state nursing regulations, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees clinical staffing plans, scheduling practices, productivity standards, and workforce allocation across assigned locations.
  • Conducts regular site visits to assess operations, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide coaching and support to clinical teams.
  • Monitors nursing and clinical quality metrics, including preventive care measures, chronic disease outcomes, immunization compliance, and patient safety indicators.
  • Leads clinical quality improvement initiatives and participates in organization-wide performance improvement activities.
  • Supports implementation and optimization of electronic health record workflows and clinical documentation standards.
  • Collaborates with leadership to prepare for HRSA operational site visits, accreditation surveys, audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Assists with recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, training, and retention of nursing and clinical support staff.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, competency assessments, coaching, corrective action, and professional development activities for assigned staff.
  • Promotes evidence-based nursing practices and facilitates ongoing staff education and clinical competency development.
  • Oversees vaccine management, infection prevention activities, clinical risk management, and emergency preparedness programs.
  • Monitors clinical supply utilization and assists with management of inventory and clinical resources.
  • Participates in budget planning and assists with management of departmental expenditures.
  • Serves as a resource and mentor for clinical staff and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Participates in leadership meetings, quality committees, and organizational planning initiatives.
  • Promotes a patient-centered culture focused on health equity, customer service excellence, and positive patient experiences.
  • Maintains inter and intradepartmental workflow by fostering a spirit of cooperation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
