About The Position

In this valuable role, the Clinical Office Supervisor will be based in the operational center of the district and will use clinical knowledge and judgement to problem solve and support clinical care and service delivery in collaboration with Clinical Community Supervisors, Care and Service Managers, and Operations Managers. The Clinical Office Supervisor will have the knowledge to assess, advise on, and evaluate a wide range of care and service delivery situations identified by field staff, clients/families, and internal office staff ensuring safe, quality, ethical care provision, and is expected to practice in accordance with regulatory legislation and standards as determined by their regulatory body and ParaMed.

Requirements

  • Current RN or RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and entitled to practice without restrictions
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a practicing Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse
  • Comprehensive patient health assessment skills are required
  • Possess an understanding of the principles of community nursing practice
  • Proven experience leading and managing a team
  • Knowledge of clinical documentation standards and practice guidelines is required
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and teaching skills
  • Commitment to professional development in clinical practice that is relevant to home health care
  • Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
  • Able to provide a current, clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS)

Nice To Haves

  • C.N.A. Certification as a Community Health Nurse (CCHN(C)) is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Respond to and advise/resolve concerns from field staff, clients/families, coordination, public, and funding staff
  • Initiate client and staff safety incident investigations and documentation to ensure timelines are met
  • Work collaboratively with frontline team members, Clinical Supervisors, and Care and Service Managers to support clinical documentation and submission requirements according to our Funder’s and CNO guidelines
  • Manage the daily Automated Provider Report (APR) tracking processes
  • Manage APR failure reports to ensure all APRs transmit to the Funder in a timely manner
  • Engage clients in problem solving using a collaborative approach, offering health teaching, building rapport and trust, achieving a mutual understanding and agreement to identify actual and potential client health care needs, strengths, capacities and goals
  • Engage staff in problem solving, offering education on practice questions, coaching and mentoring in resolution of problems
  • Maintain the knowledge, skills and attitudes to provide safe, efficient, effective service in all areas of practice by keeping abreast of changes in practice setting that affect scope of practice
  • Document all client care and staff problem solving as per ParaMed policies
  • Respond to Not Seen Not Found (NSNF) situations in a timely fashion – following Paramed policies and working with the Funder
  • Attend to all urgent clinical concerns in a timely manner, using appropriate prioritization and delegation
  • Support staff with workplace injury reporting in a timely manner
  • Review billing suspensions and rejections to ensure visits are authorized by our Funder
  • Follow-up with staff who require further training and support in completing on time clinical documentation
  • Be part of a clinical on call evening/weekend rotation
  • Other duties as assigned
