This role involves scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and coordinating administrative aspects of meetings and travel. The assistant will also schedule patients, enter information into the computer system, and coordinate appointments with other departments or physician offices. Responsibilities include answering and screening telephone calls, triaging clinical calls, and resolving problems. The role also involves assembling, copying, and releasing medical records, and working with the Medical Records Department. Additionally, the assistant will generate and distribute reports, manage mail and department documents, operate office equipment, and order supplies. The position requires completing referrals, tracking re-authorizations, processing patient registration, and obtaining necessary information. It may also involve processing billing/reimbursement forms and maintaining logs and reports. Assisting with data gathering for reports and meetings is also part of the role.
