The Clinical Office Assistant provides customer-focused service and support to patient flow in a unit based. This position may be responsible for a variety of duties based on the operations of department, including: Patient registration Patient scheduling Patient billing Assisting with pre-certification if applicable (collect insurance information; receipt of co-pays or bill payments) Medical records retrieval, release, or collection Data entry Answering phones Responsible for routine problem resolution, assistance with patient flow coordination, and initiation of follow-up with appropriate staff as needed. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to patient privacy and confidentiality, i.e., HIPAA laws. Demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background. Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Medical terminology
  • Computer fluency/literacy
  • Communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Organization and prioritization skills
  • 1 year of experience in an office front desk type role, healthcare registration, scheduling or other patient-facing healthcare positions.
