Provide customer-focused service and support to patient flow in a unit based. This position may be responsible for a variety of duties based on the operations of department, including: 1) patient registration, 2) patient scheduling, 3) patient billing, 4) assist with pre-certification if applicable (collect insurance information; receipt of co-pays or bill payments), 5) medical records retrieval, release, or collection, 6) data entry and 7) answering phones. Responsible for routine problem resolution, assistance with patient flow coordination, and initiation of follow-up with appropriate staff as needed. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to patient privacy and confidentiality, i.e., HIPAA laws. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.
