About The Position

Registered Dietitians at NewYork-Presbyterian use medical nutrition therapy to treat patients while participating in and enhancing preventative and community based care. They are respected members of the dynamic multidisciplinary care team, engaging daily with medical team members in direct patient care provision. This role specifically involves working with a diverse patient population at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, contributing to the study of nutrition and its relationship to various diseases. Responsibilities include developing nutrition treatment plans, ensuring optimal care in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements, and educating dietetic interns and staff. The position is part-time, day shift, and requires on-site presence within a commutable distance to NYP.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college/university or foreign equivalent.
  • Completion of an ACEND accredited/approved Supervised Practice Program in Dietetics.
  • Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) within 6 months.
  • Certification by the State of New York as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist.
  • NYS certification within 12 months.
  • Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy.
  • Ability to make fast and accurate assessment of patients.
  • Must live within a commutable distance to NYP.
