About The Position

Under general supervision of the Director of Nursing, the adjunct faculty member teaches assigned clinical rotations according to the rules and procedures of the College. This is a part-time, adjunct faculty position. This is a continuous recruitment to create an applicant pool. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as-needed basis when the Health Sciences Department has a need for a Clinical Instructor. The continuous posting will remain open for a period of 24 months. After this period, applications will become inactive.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• One or more years of teaching experience in an academic or clinical setting including patient education
• Two or more years of full-time employment as a registered nurse in a clinical nursing practice.
• A current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching experience in the community college system
• Master of Science in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates student performance through processes approved by the Director of Nursing and informs the student accordingly
• Obtains and maintains such licenses and/or certifications as may become necessary or appropriate to perform in accordance with accepted standards in the field of academic responsibility
• Maintains familiarity with the NCBON the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the NC Community College System's standards and requirements.
• Utilizes methods of instruction and teaching techniques that are appropriate to the fulfillment of course goals and objectives
