Requirements

Current, unencumbered RN license in the State of Missouri
Master's degree in Nursing
2–3 years of clinical nursing experience

Previous teaching, precepting, mentoring, or clinical education experience
Experience as a preceptor, mentor, charge nurse, clinical leader, or a nurse others naturally turn to for guidance.

Responsibilities

Guide nursing students through hands-on clinical experiences in local healthcare settings.
Connect real-world nursing practice to students' coursework.
Coach and mentor students in developing clinical skills, judgment, communication, and confidence.
Observe student performance and provide meaningful feedback and evaluation.
Recognize opportunities for additional student support and help them develop through coaching and remediation.
Collaborate with Joyce faculty and staff to ensure a consistent, student-centered learning experience.
Stay current in nursing practice and bring current clinical knowledge into teaching.
Participate in select university activities such as faculty meetings, pinning ceremonies, and graduation.
