The Clinical Nurse, Resident provides comprehensive nursing care to patients and their families by implementing a plan of care based on the patient’s developmental and health care needs. These needs are identified through assessment of the patient’s physical and psychological condition, socioeconomic status, and physician orders related to care, treatment, and education. The Clinical Nurse understands the organization’s needs and supports the mission, values, and management of patient care services. The role actively supports and incorporates the ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, the North Carolina Board of Nursing Practice Act, WakeMed’s Division of Nursing Professional Practice model, and WakeMed’s Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC) model. PFCC emphasizes dignity and respect, information sharing, participation, and collaboration between patients, families, and the Clinical Nurse.
