To provide direct and indirect nursing services to patients and families. This role involves utilizing the nursing process and critical thinking to provide individualized, goal-directed care that incorporates the mind, body, and spirit, consistent with current safety standards. The nurse will identify actual and potential problems, continuously evaluate interventions, and adjust care plans as patient and family needs change. They will also collaborate with patients, families, and other team members to develop comprehensive care plans, prioritize resource demands, and act as a preceptor/teacher for other nurses. The position requires implementing safe, therapeutic, and efficient care for patients with complex needs and demonstrating accountability for achieving patient outcomes. Documentation is expected to be comprehensive, concise, and reflect a critical thinking/problem-oriented approach. The role also involves delegating and assigning care delivery processes, assessing physician orders, assisting coworkers, and serving as a patient advocate. Age-appropriate patient education will be provided to facilitate recovery, self-care, and health maintenance. The nurse will coordinate transfer and discharge planning and teaching in collaboration with the healthcare team and adapt nursing interventions to meet diverse needs.
