About The Position

This is a continuous recruitment requisition for experienced Med/Surg-Telemetry RNs to join units at Hoag Newport Beach, including 5W and Surgical-6. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis for openings across multiple shifts and statuses as needed. The Clinical Nurse – MedSurg role provides direct patient care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act to assigned patients on Medical/Surgical units. The nurse collaborates with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of safe, timely and appropriate quality patient care. This includes providing physical assessments, nursing interventions, pain management, medication administrations, specimen collection, meeting nutritional needs, and teaching and discharge needs of the patients assigned. Utilizes the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices to meet patient care needs. Evaluates and adjusts the nursing care process as necessary with consultation as needed, and confers with the appropriate resource personnel when making ethical/legal/medical dilemma decisions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse in the State of California - Current and in good standing.
  • BLS certification prior to clinical rotation.
  • ACLS required for Surgical (5 West and 6 West).

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • One year experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
  • Experience in SUB-ICU required for Surgical – 6 West.
  • Experience on Surgical-6 West unit preferred.
