Under the general direction of the Clinical Nurse Supervisor in consultation with the Ambulatory Operations Director (AOD), utilizing the nursing process to provide appropriate and culturally sensitive care to UIHS clients. This role involves assisting in the day-to-day operations of the clinic, providing nursing services, administering medications and immunizations, providing health instruction, utilizing triage assessment, intervening during adverse events, documenting in the electronic health record (EHR), maintaining IV skills, preparing equipment for examinations, maintaining client comfort and safety, responding to life-saving situations, initiating client education plans, preparing rooms and equipment, supporting Medical Assistants, caring for and sterilizing equipment, maintaining positive relationships, performing office functions, participating in case management, providing input for medical staff evaluation, attending staff meetings, assisting with reports and accreditation preparation, and maintaining a professional, organized, and clean working environment. The role also requires a willingness to learn about American Indian culture, work with American Indian/Alaska Native people with cultural awareness and humility, and deliver services in a culturally responsive manner, adhering to accreditation and compliance standards.
