Experienced Clinical Nurse - Telemetry & Thoracic Cardiovascular Unit
About The Position
As a Clinical Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center, you will work within the Telemetry / Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery Unit, providing care to individuals undergoing complex procedures such as esophagectomies, pneumonectomies, pulmonary resections, and vascular interventions. The ideal candidate brings a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, an active RN license, and at least 12 months of recent experience in a medical/surgical, telemetry, or ICU setting. Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure
- Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Upon Hire
- At least 12 months of recent experience in a medical/surgical, telemetry, or ICU setting.
- All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.

Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and determine required nursing and multidisciplinary interventions
- Provide care using clinical competency, compassion, and adherence to safety practices
- Administer medications, perform procedures, and manage emergency situations
- Use technology and clinical systems to support patient care
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical teams, patients, and families to plan and evaluate care
- Ensure continuity of care through discharge planning and coordinated services
- Serve as an advocate to uphold patient rights
- Document care according to established standards
- Access, input, and retrieve information from electronic systems
- Train, coach, and assist team members to promote efficient use of resources
- Participate in assisting team workflow and patient care priorities
- Integrate findings from research studies into practice
- Participate in data collection for ongoing studies
- Perform other duties as assigned
