About The Position

El Centro Regional Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to provide advanced clinical leadership and expertise within the nursing department. The Clinical Nurse Specialist supports patient care delivery, improves clinical outcomes, and promotes evidence-based nursing practices. This role works closely with nursing leadership, interdisciplinary teams, and staff nurses to enhance quality of care, develop educational programs, and support professional nursing practice. The Clinical Nurse Specialist functions as a clinician, educator, consultant, and leader within the organization.

Requirements

Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Nursing required
Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum three (3) years of recent experience in an acute care clinical setting
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (unit dependent)
Certified Nurse Specialist (CNS) certification through the California Board of Registered Nursing

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using advanced nursing expertise
Develop and support evidence-based interventions that improve patient outcomes.
Identify quality improvement opportunities and support patient safety initiatives.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize care delivery.
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff.
Assist in development of nursing education and competency programs.
Support evidence-based nursing practice and professional development.
Provide leadership in clinical decision-making and patient care initiatives.
Lead and support initiatives that align with hospital quality goals and regulatory requirements.
Analyze clinical outcomes and assist leadership with improvement strategies.
Collaborate with clinical managers to evaluate patient care processes and programs.
