Under the general direction of the Clinical Nurse Supervisor in consultation with the Ambulatory Operations Director (AOD), utilizing the nursing process to provide appropriate and culturally sensitive care to UIHS clients. This role involves assisting in the day-to-day operations of the clinic, providing nursing services, administering medications and immunizations, providing health instruction, utilizing triage assessment, intervening during adverse events, documenting in the electronic health record (EHR), and maintaining current knowledge and skills in IVs and IV pumps. The nurse will also prepare equipment, assist physicians, maintain client comfort and safety, respond to life-saving situations, initiate client education plans, prepare rooms and supplies, provide support for Medical Assistants, and ensure the care, cleaning, and sterilization of equipment. Additionally, the role requires maintaining positive relationships, performing office functions, participating in case management, providing input for medical staff evaluation, attending staff meetings, assisting with reports and accreditation preparation, and maintaining a professional working environment. A commitment to learning about American Indian culture and demonstrating cultural awareness and humility is essential, as is adherence to accreditation and compliance standards.
