Transfer Center Nurses provide 24-hour coverage in the Transfer Center to facilitate smooth transfer or transport and transition for all emergent, urgent, and elective patients into the Stanford University Medical Center from referring hospitals, clinics, and physician's offices ensuring they are provided the appropriate level of care bed, financial screening, and timely, appropriate mode of transport. Transfer Center Nurses evaluate, process, track, document, and coordinate patient transfers and patient transports into and out of the Stanford Medical Center. Transfer Center Nurses efficiently engage appropriate departments in the transfer process and are responsible for oversight of the entire transfer episode, from start to finish. Our Clinical Nurse (RN) job classification is represented by the Committee for Recognition of Nursing Achievement (CRONA).
