About The Position

The Clinical Nurse III provides direct patient care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act to assigned patients on Medical/Surgical units. The nurse collaborates with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of safe, timely and appropriate quality patient care. This includes providing physical assessments, nursing interventions, pain management, medication administrations, specimen collection, meeting nutritional needs, and teaching and discharge needs of the patients assigned. Utilizes the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices to meet patient care needs. Evaluates and adjusts the nursing care process as necessary with consultation as needed and confers with the appropriate resource personnel when making ethical/legal/medical dilemma decisions. Performs other duties as assigned. Additionally, the Clinical Nurse III meets the requirements outlined in the Clinical Ladder program respective to his/her department. The Clinical Nurse III demonstrates a commitment to hospital involvement and professional growth by participating in committees, attending related meetings, and presenting education projects and/or supplemental activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Three years’ nursing experience required.
  • Oncology experience required.
  • Registered Nurse in the State of California - Current and in good standing.
  • National Certification in specialty area.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) prior to clinical rotation.
  • ACLS required within 60 days of hire.
  • OCN required.

Nice To Haves

  • Radiation Oncology experience preferred.
