Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
Registered Nurse license in the state of Louisiana required.
5 years experience in Psychiatric nursing and prior management experience required.

Nice To Haves

MSN or related advanced degree preferred.
Psychiatric nursing certification is a plus.
Strong leadership and communication
Crisis management and de-escalation techniques
Knowledge of psychopharmacology and mental health disorders

Responsibilities

Oversee psychiatric nursing care delivery.
Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices and safety protocols.
Monitor patient outcomes and adjust care plans as needed.
Recruit, train, and supervise psychiatric nurses and support staff.
Schedule shifts, manage workloads, and conduct performance evaluations.
Foster a supportive and trauma-informed work environment.
Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations.
Manage budgets, resources, and documentation systems.
Lead or participate in Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives.
Monitor safety protocols and therapeutic milieu standards.
Address patient, family, and staff feedback to improve care delivery.
Coordinate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and care planning.
Collaborate with community mental health organizations.
Advocate for mental health awareness and patient rights.
