About The Position

Dearborn Hospital is seeking a skilled and motivated nurse leader who is clinically strong, operationally savvy, and passionate about building engaged, high-performing teams. This leadership role provides the opportunity to influence day-to-day operations while shaping long-term culture, quality outcomes, and staff development. The Short Stay/Observation Unit is a 50-bed unit consisting of private rooms and is dedicated to the care of adult patients with a wide range of non-critical diagnoses. Our team utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to provide efficient care, treatment, and disposition, typically within a 23-hour timeframe. Patients are admitted to the unit from various sources, including the Emergency Department, Operating Room, procedural areas, direct admissions from home, and referrals from primary care providers. The unit includes 20 telemetry beds for patients requiring cardiac monitoring. Due to the broad range of conditions treated, the unit specializes in non-critical medical and surgical care. Our team is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for patients to their next level of care, whether that be discharge home, transfer to another facility, inpatient admission, or a procedural area.
